Welcome Home Cookies - Recipe of the Month!
Welcome Home Cookies - December 2012
Baking Coach's recipe of the month!
**Featured Recipe for Domino® Sugar’s Haunted Sugar Cookie House**
1 Cup Butter, Softened
1 Cup Domino® Sugar
2 Eggs
2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
3 Cups all-purpose flour
½-teaspoon baking Powder
½-teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. Beat Butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl on a low speed, just until creamy. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt; add to butter mixture, stirring until well blended.
2. Divide dough in half. Cover; refrigerate 1 to 2 hours or until firm enough to handle.
3. Pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees.
4. On lightly floured surface, roll each half of the dough to about ¼ inch thick.
5. Cut into shapes with 2 ½” cookie cutters. Place on an un-greased cookie sheet.
Bake 4 to 8 minutes or until edges are firm and bottoms are very lightly browned. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack cool completely.
Decorate with simple glaze of confectionary sugar and water.
End of Story: 3 dozens cookies in about four hours!!!! THE END
The Glaze:
3 ¾ cup or 1 pound confectionary sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and water – 5 to 8 tablespoons until you reach desired consistency. Mix in a bowl until smooth and color with food coloring for that extra special touch!

Regular or Gluten Free Crust
How to make a pie pop:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
You will need:
1 Single Pie Crust Recipe (See Ingredient List) -->
1 Apple Filling Recipe (See Ingredient List) -->
½ cup Sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
½ stick of butter melted

Directions:
Use a small cookie cutter to cut out circles or other desired shapes.
Place the circles on a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Insert a lollipop stick firmly into the center of the circles.

Place a teaspoon of the apple mixture in the center of the dough circle.
Stretch out a dough circle for the top crust so that it overlaps the bottom circle slightly. Fold the pie dough together and use a fork or fingers to create a ribbed edge, sealing the pie pop firmly. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Create a smiley face or four vent holes in the top crust.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden. Remove with oven and brush with butter and extra cinnamon sugar.
